1983 served as the year of Cronenberg. While previously having proved himself with great films like "Shivers," it wasn't until 83' that his full potential became realized to a broader audience. Having completed both his masterpiece "Videodrome" while also releasing the great "The Dead Zone," Cronenberg took the horror world by storm, developing a legacy which continues to the present day. Additionally, 83' was the year of Stephen King, who was exceptionally busy during this period. Consequently, three films based all of King's work made my list for the top 10 horror movies of 1983.
